His first project of the day: fixing the leaky faucet in the kitchen. Armed with a basic toolkit, a pair of old sneakers, and a vague sense of confidence, Jake set off to the sink.
Step 1: Turning off the water. He dutifully located the shut-off valve under the sink. But after twisting the handle a few times and hearing the sound of water rushing… somewhere, Jake realized he might have turned the wrong valve. Water sprayed out of the faucet with force, spraying his face in the process. “Whoops,” he muttered, scrambling to turn it off completely.
After a couple of wet towels, and a lot of frustration, he finally managed to stop the water flow. Step 1—somewhat successful. He wiped his brow and moved on to Step 2: unscrewing the faucet handles.
