Ingredients:
- 4 cups fresh or canned peach slices (drained if using canned)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the Peaches:
- If using fresh peaches, peel and slice them. If using canned peaches, make sure they are drained.
- In a medium bowl, mix the peaches with 1/2 cup of granulated sugar and the ground cinnamon. Set aside.
- Prepare the Batter:
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar.
- Stir in the milk until the batter is smooth.
- Assemble the Cobbler:
- Pour the melted butter into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter. Do not stir.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the batter has risen around the peaches.
- Serve:
- Allow the cobbler to cool for a few minutes before serving. It’s delicious served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
