Ingredients:
- Cake:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Butter Sauce:
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan.
- Prepare Cake Batter:
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Add buttermilk, butter, eggs, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
- Bake:
- Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Prepare Butter Sauce:
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and water. Cook over medium heat until butter is melted and sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Glaze the Cake:
- Poke holes in the warm cake and pour the butter sauce over it. Let the cake absorb the sauce before removing from the pan.
