- Cake:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup buttermilk

- Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 6 tablespoons buttermilk
- 3 3/4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Prepare Cake Batter:
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and baking soda. In a saucepan, bring butter and water to a boil, then pour over the flour mixture. Add buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla, mixing well.
- Bake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Prepare Frosting:
- In a saucepan, bring butter and buttermilk to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Optionally, stir in chopped pecans.
